The International School of Beauty Therapy has been established for 28 years. It is the only school in Western Australia to be accredited with the international associations - CIDESCO Zurich and CIBTAC UK. The school is also accredited with the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia, Nationally Recognised Training and CRICOS and is Austudy approved. Situated in the suburb of Peppermint Grove, the school is close to both the Swan River and the Indian Ocean. The light and airy premises are on the upper level of a shopping centre, just 2 minutes walk from the train station, on a major bus route, and with ample parking. Peppermint Grove is an exclusive shopping area, known for its street side cafe’s and its close proximity to the beach. The school is fully equipped with modern teaching aids and equipment, ensuring thorough training in all aspects of Beauty Therapy, including the latest Spa
Therapy techniques. This ensures that our graduates are of true international standards.
The facilities include two large practical rooms, one for facial therapy and one
for body therapy, a spa room, theory classroom, student kitchen and coffee room.
CIDESCO schools are governed by CIDESCO to ensure that they adhere to their rigorous training standards and that graduating students are of a high
International Standard. All ISBT teaching staff have CIDESCO, CIBTAC and Australian qualifications plus extensive experience in the Beauty Therapy industry, including examining for CIDESCO overseas and working on cruise ships. All the teaching staff are licensed trainers of Hot and Cold Rocks Massage. Specialised Consultants teach Acrylic nails, Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage. ![]()
The school invites industry input, liaising with local salon owners, many of whom contact the school directly for their staff. As a consequence of this, many students will have part time employment whilst completing their courses. As we are agents for Steiner who have salons on the major cruise ships, some students may choose this as their career. We are one of the two schools in Australia from whom Steiner take graduates upon completion of their course, with no further work experience as their standard is so high. We can also assist in placing students in health farms and spa’s overseas. If the students have enjoyed their study they can go on to take an advanced diploma in cosmetic and paramedical studies, which can lead onto a university qualification. |
